Overview
Sales Tax and Service Tax (SST) Malaysia re-starts on 1 September 2018. SST replaces Goods and Services Tax (GST) which ended 30 June 2018. This new SST may appear to be simple and straight forward but given the differences in scope and mechanism, businesses cannot afford to be complacent and take things for granted because it boils down to dollar and cents of your businesses.
As such, all personnel involved in operations, production, sales and in particular finance; need to know clearly the implications of the new taxes in the costing and pricing of goods and services, accounting system and compliance with the new legislations; and to deal with transitional issues.
The workshop stresses the relevant SST processes in accordance of the SST Act to enable the business to conduct their business in an orderly and efficient manner and to highlight the penalties and stringent SST procedures that can potentially cause big penalties and fines if not done correctly.
